Alto plopped down in the deserted church on a smooth, wooden pew. She sighed and looked out the stained glass window. Colors shimmered on the floor while the pale sun began to set in the sky that appeared to be colored by a two-year-old with a crayon. She sniffed the air, whiskers twitching, but it seemed as though it wasn't just her scent she picked up.

As the sun sank, her final rays disappearing, all the vampires in the city suddenly awoke and rose to a night of feasting and war effort. But for one, who wasn't all that interested tonight. Nay...tonight, he sought to just do what he pleased.
In the dark of the night, he strode down the street, saying a little tune under his breath. It was actually very pretty. He wrote it himself, and he just liked singing it. He was headed for the church. Even vampires need a little spiritual uplift, after all. As he entered, his voice was magnified, right in the middle of the little song.
"And dear Morgan, my bonnie lass With sparkling teeth and voice so brass Took my heart and touched my lips And then gave me the killers kiss
Oh, she took my heart, stole my dreams Took my soul in devil's schemes And now we've parted, on our ways Seeking out better days
But never once shall I forget My one, my only sweet For Morgan, my dear, my one... She's good enough to eat!"
Chuckling to himself as he strode down towards the front of the church, where the crucifix hung testament of all sins. The song he had written wasn't always the same. Sometimes Cam changed things about. So one could say...his ballad of Morgan was still in the making. After all, that last passage had been quite more sad and sorrowful last time. And just now, he made it amusing and got a laugh out of it.
Yet never was he satisfied.

Alto was present at the time and she witnessed this strange guy singing the tune. She chortled at the final line, and her eyes shot open consciously. The scent in the air tasted strongly of sweet blood, and the.. different stench of a vampire. She brought her head up and noticed-the person in front of her was a vampire! Resisting her urge to charge and bite him, she remembered the truce made at the church. "You're a vampire, aren't you?" She muttered with a whisker's twitch.

Turning at another laugh, he gave her a smile as she guessed his game. "You'd guess correctly," he said with a little bow of his head. "And you must be a lycan of a sort." Today he was in his normal wear of long-sleeved polo shirt and jeans (today they shirt was striped with broad dark green and bright green). He didn't feel like dressed up in a suit today, funnily enough. "The name's Cameron." He popped a squat on the nearest pew, putting her arms behind his head and crossing one leg over the other.
Certainly wasn't the most proper person to walk into a church, was he?

Alto nodded silently. "Yeah, a were-cat." She had a black AC DC tee on, with dark blue skinny jeans, along with a pair of Converse shoes-and dirty socks. She winced when he put his arms behind his head. She murmured, "The name's Rose. I mean, Alto." She drew her hands to her side. "You're lucky we made the truce not to kill each other here. You'd be dead meat if there wasn't a peace here."

"Alto," he said, trying the name out. He seemed quite easy around her. Cam was confident in his own abilities. Besides, there was a peace here. He didn't need to be all tense and throw around nasty words. Looking at her he chuckled and closed his eyes. "I'd like to see that. Besides, you don't want to kill me. I'm a nice guy, believe me." He tipped his head back to peer at her, his neck exposed quite deliciously. "Alto's a nice name, by the way. It's different. I like that."

Alto grinned. "Yep, Alto. I kind of figured that you were nice, you wouldn't be talking to me if you weren't. Unless you're feeding info for your Clan, which I'd hope you're not." Blabbermouth, stop TALKING! she thought to herself. "Thanks for the compliment, anyway. I think different is good. Alto is the section in music where the pitch is lower than normal." she stated factually. "I love music, actually. I have a fetish for it."

"I'm not that much of a jerk," he said monotonously. "And that it is. I'm a bit of a music fan myself. I also like cats. So you're in luck." Turning his body so that his legs were stretched along the pew and one arm got slung over the backboard, he got a good look of her and smiled. "I like the whiskers. Haven't seen a girl with them before. But...most lycans I've seen have been dogs." Cam was a spy, yes indeed. But he doubted she would say anything incriminating. Besides, he kinda liked this girl. A little spunky. Maybe he would turn a blind eye if she did.

"Is that so?" She questioned, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah, I have ears and a tail too," she said, removing her hat that was put to the side, revealing her black, velvety ears. She stood up and her curvy black tail sprung out. She sat down, her tail to the right of her, waving slightly. "Yep, we're rather rare. Endangered, actually. You don't see much of us anymore. Want to touch my tail?" She offered.

The vampire touched a hand to his hurt. "My, my, it would be an honor," he said. Standing on the pew, he put one leg onto the seat next to her and pulled his whole bulk over, sitting next to her, his brown eyes glittering. He reached forward and touched her tail. Unable to resist the temptation, he ran his hand along the fur. It was quite real, like an actual cats. Remembering that his hands must be quite cold, he withdrew it, though watched her with interest. "I've never had the privilege of being able to touch a lycan's tail, I must admit," he said, leaning back.

Alto laughed slightly. Her icy cold eyes glimmered as well, and as he ran his hand through the tail, a slight shiver ran through her body, yet she didn't mind much. She grinned and nodded. "Well, it's pretty much a truce, and it's not like I'm gonna die if you touch my tail. Just try not to bite it, alright?" She declared with a little giggle in between.

"Wouldn't dream of it," he said, his eyes glittering as well. "Besides, I have lived long enough to know that no war lasts forever. Even if it takes a hundred years, or two hundred, this'll eventually pass over and we'll go back to the things were before." Cameron was a curious creature. Many vampires were naturally solitary, but they still got lonely and loved attention. Although he could be found from time to time with the rest of the vampires, usually he was out and about, on his on. Naturally, such social oddities like him were usually easy pickings.
Unless, of course, they were Cam, who was very, very aged and knew well enough that if a vampire doesn't want to be noticed, he damned well won't be noticed.

"Yeah," she responded. "I don't want it to go on, but hey... I'm not a loner. I've got some friends, and some reasons to fight too..." She began to trail off on a limb, but chose not to go on; the vampire in presence may use the information to give to the leader. Besides, no one could be trusted, even if at a peaceful place. Alto felt Cam could be, a little bit. She inquired, "Hey, that song you were singing earlier.. was that about a girl? Your girlfriend?"

He blinked and laughed. Loudly. "Morgan? I have not seen Morgan since about a year after she turned me. She's my sire. Was my first love. But...things fell apart," he said. Cam was quite open about that. After all, the whole Morgan thing had happened about 280 years ago. It wasn't like he could still feel sensitive about a subject that died almost three centuries past. "Yeah. That girl took a lot of things that important to me." He shrugged, putting his elbows on his knees.

Alto patted his back a bit. "Aww. It's okay, there'll be other girls. She took your heart with her?" she questioned, ready to listen. "No worries, better to have loved and lost than to have never have loved at all. I would share the same story-I loved a vampire. But since the war came, I couldn't see him, and then.. someone killed him in battle. That was... me. My leader forced me to," she growled through gritted teeth.
